What is documentary wedding photography?
Documentary wedding photography, also known as photojournalistic or reportage photography, focuses on capturing real moments as they naturally unfold throughout your wedding day. Rather than staged poses and formal shots, I observe and photograph genuine emotions, candid interactions, and spontaneous moments. This approach creates a true visual story of your day, capturing the laughter, tears, and joy exactly as they happened.
How much does wedding photography cost?
My wedding photography packages start from £1,795 for full day coverage. This includes coverage from bridal preparations through to the evening celebrations, 400-600 professionally edited images, and an online gallery for easy sharing and downloading. Premium packages with engagement shoots, albums, and extended coverage are available. Contact me for a detailed pricing guide.
What areas do you cover for wedding photography?
I'm based in Walthamstow, East London, and primarily cover weddings throughout London, Essex, Kent, Hertfordshire, and Buckinghamshire. However, I regularly travel throughout the UK for weddings and I'm also available for destination weddings abroad. Travel costs may apply for locations outside the M25.
How many photos will we receive?
You'll typically receive between 400-600 fully edited, high-resolution photographs depending on the length of your day and coverage. Every image is carefully selected and professionally edited to ensure consistent quality throughout your collection. You won't receive thousands of duplicates - just the best moments, beautifully captured.
How long does it take to receive our wedding photos?
You'll receive your complete gallery of fully edited wedding photos within 4-6 weeks of your wedding day. I'll also share a sneak peek of 20-30 images within the first week so you have something to share with family and friends while the full edit is in progress.
Do you offer engagement or pre-wedding photo sessions?
Yes! Engagement sessions are a wonderful way to get comfortable in front of the camera before your wedding day, and they give us a chance to get to know each other. These can be added to any wedding package. We can shoot at a location meaningful to you, or I can suggest beautiful spots around London and the surrounding areas.
What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
British weather can be unpredictable, but rain on your wedding day is nothing to worry about! Some of my most atmospheric and romantic photographs have been taken on rainy days. We'll work with whatever conditions we have, and I always have a backup plan for outdoor shots. Rain can actually create beautiful, moody images that feel incredibly romantic.
Do you photograph same-sex weddings?
Absolutely! I'm honored to photograph weddings of all couples and celebrate love in all its forms. Every wedding is unique and special, and I approach each one with the same dedication to capturing authentic moments and genuine emotions.
How do we book you for our wedding?
Simply get in touch through my contact form or give me a call to check availability for your date. If I'm available, we can arrange a phone call, video chat, or in-person meeting to discuss your plans in detail. Once you're ready to book, I'll send you a contract and invoice for a 25% deposit to secure your date.
What should we wear for our wedding photos?
Wear whatever makes you feel comfortable and confident! My documentary style captures you being yourselves, so the most important thing is that you feel relaxed and natural. For engagement sessions, I recommend avoiding busy patterns and choosing complementary colors that work well together.
Will you provide a shot list?
While I work in a documentary style that captures moments as they happen, I'm always happy to discuss any specific photographs you'd like. Key moments like the first kiss, signing the register, and family groups are always covered. If there are particular combinations of people or specific shots that are important to you, just let me know.
How do you deliver our wedding photos?
Your photos are delivered through a beautiful online gallery where you can view, share, and download your images in full resolution. You'll also receive a USB drive with all your photographs. The gallery is password-protected and can be shared with family and friends for easy viewing and ordering prints.
